Job Description

KPMG Valuation Services is positioned within our Deal Advisory and Infrastructure group and offers technically sound, commercially focused independent valuations to help clients formulate appropriate business objectives and strategies, taking a flexible approach that tailors services and resources to individual client needs.

Our clients require robust valuations of their key assets to underpin transaction activity, or to meet taxation and financial reporting obligations. We are offering the opportunity for an enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic and a growth-oriented mindset to join our Tangible Asset Valuations (TAVS) team within Valuation Services. You will be a commercial, resilient team player with an open, curious mind and a proactive approach to learning and upskilling, helping us enhance the way we work and bring creative solutions to our clients’ problems.

Your Opportunity

  • Research plant & equipment within specific companies and industries to identify key performance metrics and value drivers
  • Think critically, identify issues and propose strategies related to the advice being provided
  • Attend site visits and utilise traditional and leading-edge valuation methodologies to determine the value of plant & equipment assets
  • Review, build and interpret financial models for businesses or projects
  • Extract relevant information to prepare clear and concise valuation reports, detailing the commercial rationale that supports the valuation opinions you have determined
  • Build robust relationships at all levels, internally and externally

Your Experience

At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background and experience, strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, our clients, and communities. To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include:

  • Proven experience in tangible asset valuations or similar exposure in the management of plant & equipment
  • While not mandatory, experience in Quantity Surveying and asset management would be a plus, including capital cost analysis, asset lifecycle management, and physical inspection of assets
  • Experience in Excel-based financial analysis, with strong PowerPoint skills and broader proficiency across other Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate and high-quality valuation reports
  • Project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines on multiple client engagements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues
  • A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to conduct physical inspections.

Qualifications

A degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification; experience as a Quantity Surveyor would be a plus.
