About the Team 

Our Finance Transformation (FT) practice sits within KPMG Consulting and works shoulder‑to‑shoulder with CFOs and senior finance leaders to tackle complexity, unlock performance and enable sustainable growth. We combine deep finance expertise, technology‑enabled solutions and hands‑on delivery to help clients reimagine finance across strategy, systems, data, governance and people.

The Brisbane Team 

Our Brisbane Finance Transformation team is small, closeknit and growing fast (currently 8 team members). You’ll have a real voice, early responsibility, and the opportunity to shape both our local offering and culture. The Queensland market is diverse and evolving, creating a strong pipeline of interesting, high impact work across sectors. 

Current engagements include: 

• Strategy & innovation – Partnering with a local university to design a future focused finance roadmap using a target operating model framework. 
• Digital acceleration – Supporting a not-for-profit with a complex ERP implementation and helping clients navigate change. 
• Data & insight – Transforming Enterprise Performance Management processes for a major health provider to enable better decision making. 
• Modern workforce – Embedding finance capability uplift into advisory work, with AI and emerging technologies increasingly shaping how finance teams operate with every engagement.

The team are in the office 3-4 days a week unless on client site. Beyond Brisbane 

While based in Brisbane, you’ll be part of a national Finance Transformation practice, with opportunities to collaborate across Australia and travel interstate to support major transformation programs. 

Your Opportunity 

We’re seeking a Manager to join our growing Brisbane team. You’ll lead high impact finance transformation initiatives, working with multidisciplinary teams across Consulting. You’ll shape future state finance operating models, support digital and ERP enabled transformations, and guide organisations through complex change. This role suits someone who enjoys strategic problem solving, delivery leadership and developing people, and who is curious, driven and excited by transformation. 

What You’ll Do 

As a Manager in Finance Transformation, you will: 

• Lead end to end delivery of finance transformation workstreams, from diagnostic and design through to implementation 
• Design and implement finance target operating models across processes, controls, systems and service delivery 
• Work with clients to improve core finance processes such as record to report, plan to perform and order to cash 
• Contribute to ERP, EPM and cloud enabled finance transformations, including enterprise structure and chart of accounts design 
• Build and manage strong client relationships, collaborating across finance, technology and the broader business 
• Develop high quality, client ready deliverables including presentations, business cases and insights 
• Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture 
• Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the Finance Transformation practice 

Experience 

You will bring a combination of consulting mindset, finance expertise and delivery leadership, including: 

• 5+ years’ consulting experience in finance transformation or 7+ years’ industry experience across FP&A, financial accounting, business partnering or transformation 
• Experience in finance transformation, finance advisory or finance operating model roles  
• Strong understanding of core finance processes and leading‑practice operating models  
• Experience supporting or delivering ERP and/or EPM implementations 
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and lead cross‑functional teams 
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills 
• Ability to travel as required for client engagements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce or a related discipline. 
• CA or CPA highly regarded (but not strictly required) as well as any technical certifications in Workday, Oracle, Microsoft D365, SAP or EPM technologies.
