Our Non-Financial Risk practice is the advisory division of choice for many of Australia’s leading organisations across financial services, corporate and government sectors. Our specialist Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) team designs and transforms risk functions, creates and builds TPRM frameworks, and supports clients in the execution and uplift of their end-to-end third-party risk management programs.
Job Description
Your Opportunity
As part of our continued growth trajectory, we are seeking an Associate Director to lead major engagements, drive market growth, and shape the strategic direction of our cross-industry Third-Party Risk Management practice. This leadership role balances client delivery excellence, practice development, and business development accountability.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Client Leadership & Delivery Excellence
· Leading complex, multi-workstream third-party risk engagements across industries, bringing deep technical expertise and strategic guidance.
· Providing specialist advisory on third-party risk frameworks, risk and controls assessments, control design and testing, regulatory alignment, operating model uplift, and assurance approaches.
· Overseeing the design and implementation of third-party risk management tools, technology solutions, and reporting dashboards.
· Facilitating executive-level workshops with clients to understand their business, risk posture, critical suppliers, and maturity gaps, translating insights into practical program design and implementation roadmaps.
· Providing senior risk advice on supplier sourcing, contracts, performance monitoring, and critical-supplier governance.
· Guiding clients through regulatory change implementation (e.g., APRA CPS 230, SOCI Act, SOC reporting standards, ASAE/ISAE requirements).
Business Development, Sales & Market Growth
· Owning and driving business development activities, including opportunity identification, pipeline development, proposal leadership, client pursuits, and supporting the achievement of sales and revenue targets.
· Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across financial services, corporate and government sectors.
· Leading go-to-market initiatives, thought leadership, market insights, and industry positioning for TPRM within the broader Non-Financial Risk practice.
· Collaborating with Partners and Directors to shape and execute strategy for the growth of the TPRM offering nationally.
Practice Leadership & People Development
· Providing coaching, technical guidance, and professional development to consultants, managers and senior managers across the Non-Financial Risk team.
· Leading internal capability development across all dimensions of third-party risk and broader enterprise risk.
· Contributing to the design of innovative digital assets, accelerators and AI-enabled solutions that support clients to manage third-party risk more effectively.
· Championing a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Innovation, AI & Future Risk
· Supporting organisations in leveraging AI-driven solutions to strengthen their third-party risk programs, while advising on the emerging risks that AI introduces across supply chains.
· Developing thought leadership on emerging third-party risk themes, regulatory changes, technology impacts, ESG & sustainability considerations, geopolitical risk, and future-state risk models.
Qualifications
· Relevant qualifications with 8+ years experience in professional services, financial services, risk management, or third-party risk management functions.
· Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, pipeline building, and supporting sales outcomes.
· Advanced project and engagement leadership capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams on complex risk engagements.
· Strong commercial, analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to solve complex client problems and influence senior stakeholders.
· Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate insights with impact at senior executive and Board levels.
· Deep expertise across all third-party risk domains, including: risk and control frameworks, assurance, critical supplier governance, operating models, performance and contract management.
· Experience with regulatory standards including APRA CPS 230, SOCI Act (2018), SOC 1/2, ASAE/ISAE 3000/3100/3402 and ASAE 3150 is highly desirable.
· Broad understanding of enterprise risk management, resilience, operational risk, and associated governance frameworks.
· A passion for developing people, uplifting capability, and contributing to the growth and strategic direction of the practice.
