KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools  is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2024-25 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 4th grade, 6th - 8th grade 

  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm 

  • High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm. 

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks support staff for our summer school program for Summer 2025. Interested candidates don’t have to be current KIPP Jacksonville employees to apply for this position, but they should already have fingerprints on file with Duval County. 

Summer school support staff will assist with school operations, transitions and classroom instruction. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by the summer school admin team. 

Our summer school is located at our campus at 1440 McDuff Ave N.

OUR CURRENT MODEL

Summer school will run from June 10, 2025 - July 11th, 2025. Summer school will be from Monday - Friday and staff will work from 8:00am to 2:30pm. Class size is expected to be around 20-25 students. We will be offering summer school for the following grade levels and content areas: 

  • K-12 ESE

  • 3rd Grade - reading and math

  • 4th - 7th Grade math 

  • 8th Grade - math (including pre-algebra), civics, reading

  • High School - math (Algebra), reading  

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Summer School support staff will be paid an hourly rate of $15/hour.  

A note for external candidates: Some candidates may be interested in joining the KIPP Jacksonville Team and Family fulltime for the 2024-25 school year after summer school ends. KIPP’s benefits package for full-time salaried employees includes:

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or 60 credit hours

  • Positive attendance record

  • In good standing with your current school

  • Must be able to fully commit to all instructional days 

  • At least one year of experience in a school setting
