KIPP Delta is part of the nation-wide KIPP non-profit network of 242 college-preparatory, public charter schools educating early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school students. We are excited that KIPP Delta served over 1,200 students in Helena and Blytheville, AR in the 2022-2023 school year.

The Academic Specialist helps drive academic outcomes by ensuring KIPP Delta’s schools and the region are compliant with regulations, improving academic systems, rolling out new academic strategies, and ensuring timely communication with academic stakeholders.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•  Ensure KIPP Delta is supported in promoting academic achievement and growth in all students grades PreK-12 by maintaining and contributing to:
  • Interventions data monitoring and monthly data report
  • Student services record keeping, filing, and progress monitoring
  • Monitor Eureka Squared implementation K-12 working closely with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Train teachers to use Illuminate, Edulastic, and TORSH and pull data reports
  • Continuously grow in professional development opportunities to become advanced in the instructional and learning data monitoring system structure to assist thedistrict in achieving improvements in its weighted achievement growth throughout all schools.
  • Request demos from curriculum vendors to find HQIM approved instructional materials grades K-12.
  • Invoice follow up for approvals and curriculum shipment and regional inventory
  • Manage NWEA and i-Ready reports and records, assist teachers in student performance analysis for student service referral files and conferences.
  • Launch region wide student academic files system for graded work
  • Monitor student academic files system for graded work that includes observations of files to check if they reach guidelines, structuring requirements, and grade book health checks.
  • Provide collaboration and support options for teachers to help guide failing/retention conversations, and student services selection results based on student achievement and growth data.
• Manage other academic projects, as needed

• Bachelor’s degree
• Prior experiences as a special education teacher or instructional leader who has worked in a low-income school
• Data savvy
• Demonstrated initiative in prioritizing amidst complex needs and strategizing to get results
• Strong organizational ability with impeccable attention to detail and strong communication skills
• Technologically proficient (or able to independently and quickly learn) Microsoft Office, Google for Education, Schoolzilla, Torsh, and similar educational platforms
• Experience designing data visualizations, presentations, and reports
• Experience with strategic and long-term planning for a team
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Willingness to work alongside instructional leaders and teachers to do whatever it takes to ensure KIPP Delta students grow and learn
• Desire to work as part of a collaborative and innovative team
• Travel required within the Arkansas Delta with significant time spent in schools and classrooms
