School Psychologist
KIPP New Jersey is looking for a strong candidate with a track record of developing future leaders and a New Jersey State licensure. Our network is seeking great School Psychologists to help our students climb the mountain to college. Our child study team members are dynamic leaders in our school communities. They love students, families and the community they serve. They are also willing to do whatever it takes to make sure their students learn and achieve.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Joining one of our schools as a school psychologist comes with a lot of growth opportunities, but with great power comes great responsibility. Here are a few for this position:
- Supports tier 3 students with behavioral and academic support plans
- Collaborates with staff at two high schools, specifically culture staff and teachers, to train staff on effective supports and strategies for tier 3 students
- Provide group and individual services for tier 3 students to develop lagging skills
- Collaborates to provide needed staff professional development.
- Consult on the educational needs of classified students.
- Interpret school psychological testing to school staff and scholar guardians.
- Collaborate with other specialists and agencies in the implementation of classified scholar programs in the school and the community.
- Serves as primary case manager for classified scholars and maintains appropriate case records.
- Coordinates the development, monitoring, and evaluation of individual education plan.
- Coordinates annual reviews and the reevaluation processes.
Qualifications
Must Haves
- Master’s Degree in School Psychology.
- NJ School Psychologist Certificate.
- Solutions oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Student Focus: Belief that all students, regardless of background, have the ability to go to and through college; demonstrated commitment to the school’s unique community.
Nice to Have
- Experience creating Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- A record of exceptional student achievement and results at a high-performing charter network/charter management organization.
- A belief that all students deserve a world class education which can be achieved through education reform
