KIPP Metro Atlanta currently operates eleven KIPP schools including four primary schools, five middle schools, one K-6 school, and one high school, as well as the KIPP Forward program which supports students through college, career, and beyond.

As a KIPP Metro Atlanta Teacher Associate your core responsibilities include: 

Curriculum and Instruction

  • Assist lead teacher to execute a scope and sequence and long-term plans in conjunction with other school faculty
  • Ensure all students are progressing by supporting small group instruction
  • In conjunction with Special Education Teachers, work to ensure that all IEPs and student needs are met both within and outside of the classroom
  • Support a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students
  • Provide time in the evening, by phone, for questions and concerns that students and/or parents may have regarding education-related issues that could not be handled during the school day
  • Help to envision and create a positive learning environment and exhibit positive rapport with students, parents, and staff
  • Hold high expectations for each student
  • Implement a school-wide positive behavior support system consistently with all students
  • Model the values of KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools by setting the standard for professional behavior
  • In addition to classroom assessments, support the administration of KIPP Metro Atlanta interim assessments in conjunction with the other KIPP schools  in the Atlanta region
  • With the support of the Principal, use data to drive instructional practices to constantly improve student achievement and instruction
  • Seek to constantly develop and improve teaching practices through ongoing feedback conversations with lead teacher  and other school faculty within KIPP Metro Atlanta
  • Participate in coaching and professional growth opportunities to improve your instructional practice and support others to improve their craft
  • Additional duties as assigned

Administrative duties

  • Assist in the preparation and display of student work
  • Assist classroom teachers with copying items to support teaching
  • Assist teachers with entering, and analyzing data related to students’ mastery of curriculum standards
  • Copying/distributing instructional materials
  • Analyze and track trends discipline data
  • Decorate hallways, bulletin boards, with examples of student work, student awards, and photographs from student activities and files trips
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
  • Detailed-oriented, exceptionally efficient, and strong time management skills
  • Strong phone etiquette
  • Professional, friendly, and adaptable personality that works well with others and is open to feedback
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Committed to the mission of preparing educationally underserved children for excellent high schools and colleges.
  • A passion for being a part of a team-oriented mission-driven school culture
  • Strong desire to become a lead teacher in the near future at KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools
