In the 2023-24 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating almost 3,000 students, kindergarten through eleventh grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida: 

  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 3rd grade, 6th - 8th grade 

  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 11th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm 

  • High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm. 

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

The Student Information Systems Manager (SISM) is responsible for managing all input/output student information data for a given school. This means the SISM is responsible for registering/withdrawing students from our database, maintaining accurate student records in the system, and coordinating information with various stakeholders across the region to meet important enrollment, attendance, and achievement goals. The SISM is a critical member of the Shared Services Team with strong ties to their school-based operations team. This position will participate in operations meetings and collaborate with their peers across the region.

Success in this role is measured by (1) ensuring 100% of students are scheduled correctly in our student database to meet enrollment targets, (2) supporting attendance and grade functionality to meet goals, and (3) keeping ‘clean’ student records.

The SISM is part of the Shared Services Team and is a year-round employee. Typical hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday and there may be occasional meetings, special school events, or commitments that fall outside of these hours. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Create and maintain student schedules in the database, including creating bell schedules, student schedules, class/teacher schedules and homeroom assignments, teacher profiles, etc.

  • Responsible for collecting, recording, maintaining and reporting of online student records within guidelines (including but not limited to: grades, updating IEP dates, registration data, transcripts, athletic eligibility and data associated with audits)

  • Maintain accurate permanent student records and test scores; Provide information to the school or region, as requested

  • Prepare a variety of reports as it relates to class size, certification, student demographics, student performance, or attendance 

  • Participate in district-led trainings to stay updated on software or systems changes

  • Collaborate with various school-based stakeholders to ensure all information is updated in the database in a timely manner. 

  • Own the upkeep and maintenance of the student cumulative folder room by maintaining organizational structure of records, efficient transport of student records, and updating student records as needed

  • Support the Front Office team as needed for events, parent questions, and school inquiries

  • Other duties as assigned 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Our compensation is very competitive and is commensurate with experience. The typical starting salary range for this role is $39,500-$43,000.

  • Excellent computer skills with database familiarity
  • Exceptional organization skills with a knack for details

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience with as a registrar in a school system and/or experience in a school front office with student records
  • Experience using Focus (SIS system in Duval County Public Schools) or PowerSchool
  • Bachelor's degree
