KIPP KC opened its first school, KIPP Endeavor Academy, in 2007 with approximately 31 fifth grade students. Today, KIPP Kansas City has grown to serve students in Pre-Kindergarten through 10th grade and is currency, educating approximately 700 students.
Job Description
As a KIPP KC Public Schools Lunch and Recess Monitor, your core responsibilities include:
Monitoring Recess
Ensure students are safe at all times when in recess areas.
Set expectations with students around safety and fairness on the playground and other shared spaces.
Teach students how to play games with each other and monitor the safety of those activities
Establish routines for playground safety, cleaning up, and transitioning to and from the playground areas.
Reset expectations as needed for individuals and groups of students in an equitable, kind manner
Meet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines
Exemplify the school cultural expectations
Monitoring Lunch
Ensure students are safe at all times and have what they need for lunch.
Maintain a cafeteria environment that is conducive to students visiting with each other and build relationships with each other.
Teach students the routines of the cafeteria in alignment with school vision.
Confer, as needed with administration around improvements to make for cafeteria routines.
Meet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines
Exemplify the school cultural expectations

Compensation
$15/hour - Part Time - 28 Hours/week
