KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools  is part of the KIPP national network. In the current school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region is comprised of four schools educating around 2,500 students, kindergarten through tenth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida: 

  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 2nd grade, 6th - 8th grade 

  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 7th grade 

  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 10th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm 

  • High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm. 

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an experienced Registrar whose duties include the management and maintenance of student information and records. These records include but are not limited to attendance records, immunization records, grades, and transfer information.  The Registrar will maintain excellent stakeholder relationships and closely collaborate with the Regional Director of Operations for efficient daily school operations.

As a Registrar, your core responsibilities include:

Student Information Management & Compliance

  • Supervises Student Information Systems Manager’s day-to-day operations, inclusive of professional development activities, determining annual goals to align with institutional initiatives and ensuring staff meet annual performance evaluation expectations
  • The Registrar will perform functions that impact enrollment, registration, graduation, records integrity, academic scheduling, reporting and the highest level of customer service
  • The incumbent is expected to use independent judgement to make decisions, interpret and apply department, division, campus and system-wide policies and procedures, perform research when needed, provide support documentation and provide general office assistance in support of the office
  • Work with School Leaders and Assistant School Leaders of Operations to gather and organize course schedule-building offerings, coordinate the administrative processes of creation, editing, proofing, and publishing of the schedule of classes
  • Provide exemplary customer service via telephone, email, virtual, video, remote and in-person inquiries; investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues presented by a variety of constituents, including students, parents, school admin, and the public
  • Monitor and reconcile data discrepancies
  • Participate in and complete professional development activities, work-related training, workshops, and meetings
  • Ensure the team is cross trained within the unit to fulfill office duties and ensure efficient operations; answer the telephone and respond to email inquiries; print, mail, fax, and scan documents, maintain filing, create, and/or update documents
  • Ensures data systems are accurate and up to date by regular review of data verification reports
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of FTE and state reporting processes  
  • Attends all District meetings and training 

Data Systems Management 

  • Manages student information system database to achieve optimal use of student data, maintaining data integrity, and data systems integration
  • Manages user accounts and access privileges for the student information system to provide security of data

COMPENSATION*
The salary range for this position is $51,000-$57,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience 
  • Proven experience managing projects and data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Unwavering commitment to customer service and satisfaction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and student data system platforms (e.g., Illuminate, Power School, Focus)
  • Ability to multi-task with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing a team with at least 2 direct reports
