Today, the KIPP Oklahoma network consists of KIPP Tulsa Public Charter Schools (grades 5th – 8th) and KIPP OKC Public Schools (grades PreK, Kindergarten and 5th – 8th). KIPP OKC Public Schools is growing one grade per year until they are a full PreK – 8th grade program.

Job Description

The Student Systems Analyst is a member of the regional Data Team, serving as the regional point of contact for all student facing software. In addition, the Student Systems Analyst works with school-based data managers to build upon current protocols and provide support on current systems. The Student Systems Analyst is highly versatile with great attention to detail, balancing long-term projects with requests from school and regional staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Position Specific Support to Data Manager/Registrar
• Develop short and long-term action steps to ensure data quality, optimize system performance/usage and automate data processes

• Support initiative to evaluate metrics on graduation progress in real time
• Support Data Manager/Registrar performance and needs in conjunction with regional leadership
• Conduct period site visits to observe school data systems and provide informal support

Training and Resource Development
• Collaborate with region and school-based staff to ensure the accuracy of student academic, attendance, behavioral, and demographic data through trainings and support

• Reviewing systems for efficiency, accuracy and improved performance. Creating new processes and maintaining them.

• Validate course schedules and enrollments for accuracy and completeness

• Monitor teacher attendance submission for completion and quality

• Promote gradebook health and review stored grades for accuracy
• Lead relevant sections of staff training and ongoing support (training new staff on relevant systems, advanced workshops for data manager professional development, etc.)

• Build upon current systems and document new systems to inform process changes and build organizational knowledge base
• Write documentation for systems, process, and data tools
• Work with school based teams to develop best practices and track progress against regional goals and deadlines

 


Systems Support & Setup
• Manage Educational Technology (EdTech) programs on behalf of our four schools
• Serve as regional point of contact for assessment, attendance, behavior, demographic and gradebook systems
• Troubleshoot systems issues for regional and school staff members, diagnosing root causes of technical issues
• Communicate systems changes, updates, and downtime to relevant staff members
• Maintain user access roles and data security within systems
• Manage data flows between student information system and blended learning platforms (managing Clever)
• Interface with vendors and regional teams to ensure minimal downtime of critical systems
• Project Manager for report card process
• Support ticket system assisting schools and students with system issues

Qualifications

 Passion for the mission of KIPP Oklahoma schools
• Bachelor's degree, graduate work or experience in data analysis preferred

• Experience cleaning, validating and manipulating large datasets

• Experience planning and executing data-driven projects across multiple departments and/or teams

• Advanced knowledge of Excel is required

• Familiarity with student information systems such as PowerSchool and Illuminate is preferred

• Experience with relational databases and programming languages, specifically SQL, is encouraged

• Familiarity with data visualization tools is encouraged

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a Full-Time, 12-month, exempt role.  Salary is commensurate with experience with a range of $55,000 - 65,000 annually.
