The KIPP Foundation trains and develops outstanding educators to lead KIPP public schools; provides tools, resources and training for excellent teaching and learning; promotes innovation; and facilitates the exchange of insights and ideas across KIPP and other public schools and organizations.

Job Description

The KIPP Foundation is seeking a candidate experienced in curriculum and assessment with a demonstrated commitment to racial justice and academic excellence, to provide continued maintenance and development to our curriculum and assessment products. As the Manager, K–8 Curriculum and Assessment you will be responsible for ensuring the timely publishing of annual product updates, creating and managing processes for curriculum and assessment changes, and working with colleagues and network users to gather feedback and analyze data trends related to all K–8 Academics products. The candidate will also help coordinate planning, project management, communications, measurement and reporting for the K–8 Academics team. This position reports to the Senior Manager, K-8 Strategic Projects

 

Because the K–8 Academics team is in the business of sourcing and supporting implementation of curriculum, assessment and professional development, the right candidate will be equipped to add operational value in: product development; project management; and data gathering and analysis.

Curriculum Products Management

·        Maintain organization and knowledge management of curriculum and curriculum-related products on internal and external sharing platforms. As needed, collaborate with IT and data teams to ensure compliance with knowledge management and sharing systems.

·        Create and manage updates and publishing of curriculum and curriculum-related products. This work will be done in conjunction with the Senior Manager, K–8 Strategic Projects and the content teams.

·        Support users with questions about the curriculum.

·        Inform the continued development of KIPP Public Schools’ curriculum and related products through gathering user feedback and use data and providing analysis along with research-based recommendations. Support the selection of any new K–8 curricular products.

 

Assessment Products Management

·        Publish assessments annually, ensure quality-control, and provide mid-year updates as needed.

·        Provide user support and training on our recommended assessment platforms. The selected candidate will be provided training and is not required to have knowledge of the platforms in advance of the position. Once trained, candidate must demonstrate content knowledge about what the product assesses, what reports to use for different stakeholders, and how and why regions and KIPP Foundation use the product.

·        Provide training to both internal and external users on all assessment products.

·        Collaborate with colleagues on the K–8 Academics Team to ensure assessment systems and their data report allow for regional leaders to implement strategic responsive instructional technology

·        Inform the continued development of KIPP Public Schools’ assessments and related products through gathering user feedback and use data and providing analysis along with research-based recommendations. Support the selection of any new K–8 assessment products.

 

Data Collection and Analysis

·        Develop and execute data collection strategies related to K–8 Academics products. Gather user feedback on K-8 Academics products.

·        Understand and support relationship of data from curriculum, assessment, and instructional technology products.

·        Partner with Data & Analytics K-8 Lead on data needs and support the sharing and use of data with the K-8 Academics team.

·        Analyze and communicate findings of data collection and analysis to inform the K–8 academic strategy, team purpose, and KIPP Public Schools mission and vision.

Qualifications

·        Experience with and working knowledge of K-12 school operating environments

·        Familiarity with curriculum and assessment platforms

·        3+ years preferred experience in project/program management

·        Strong planning skills with ability to create and follow a project plan to meet deadlines

·        Strong analytical skills. Experience in data synthesis and reporting ideal

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across a broad range of audiences

·        Passion for KIPP’s mission and values

·        Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required 

Additional Information

This is a full-time, exempt position. Position can be full time remote or based in a KIPP office in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, or DC. Includes estimated 10% travel annually.
