Job Description

The Opportunity

The Student Wellness Clerk is a member of the S3 team that will effectively work to reduce barriers to access mental health care and medical health care at KIPP Sharp and KIPP Sharpstown schools. The Student Wellness Clerk is responsible for escorting students between schools to attend their clinical appointments, assist with entering immunization and other health data, and building relationships between KIPP and Legacy Community Health.  

*Please be advised that this is a temporary full-time position that will last until late December.*

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Escort students between KIPP Sharp and KIPP Sharpstown campuses by foot, including safely navigating traffic
  • Escorting students within each school to a private space and set up the necessary technology equipment to conduct behavioral health sessions. 
  • Assist KTX team with entering immunization and other health data from all KIPP campuses into appropriate software. 
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with Legacy Community Health medical and behavioral health providers. 
  • Help promote visits at the Legacy Community Health clinic by helping build awareness to the services offered.
  • Assist School-Based Mental Health team members with Need Assessment and Data input. 
  • And other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Prior job experience in data entry is preferred but not necessary. 
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of students and families and be sensitive to social issues 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to structure own time and manage multiple perspectives
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office programs, google software and can demonstrate ability to enter data into several databases. 
  • Is mindful and careful when navigating traffic by foot. 
  • Is physically able to walk 10-15 minutes at a time, multiple times a day.
