Title: Part - Time Regional Substitute Teacher

Hourly Rate: $18.50 per hour

Schedule: up to 25 hours a week M- F

POSITION OVERVIEW

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks part-time substitutes to work in our schools. These substitute teachers might provide coverage in several ways. One way might be to work in one position for a whole school day, for example providing coverage while a teacher is out.  Another way would be providing rotating coverage  or "floating" when teachers at one of our schools are out, in a meeting, or are reporting elsewhere. Substitute teachers might also work half-days.

This position would start as soon as possible and run through the whole 2022-23 school year. Substitute teachers should be flexible to work at any of our campuses. Part time substitute teachers would be scheduled on an as-needed basis and would be called in advance to confirm their school assignment for the day and their daily schedules.

Substitute teachers are expected to maintain high expectations for both behavior and academics in the classroom, and communicate with the team to ensure a smooth transition in classrooms.

For the 2022-23 school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work from 7:30 am. - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Student hours are typically  8am - 3:30pm. Staff hours vary slightly at each of our K-8 schools. Staff hours at the high school are 6:30am - 3:30pm and student hours are 7:00am - 2:30 pm. Every Wednesday is a student early release day (1:30 pm dismissal for K-8 and 12:30pm dismissal at the high school), which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development.
