Job Description
KIPP Chicago seeks a full-time Payroll Manager for our Regional Finance Team. This position is based in our Pilsen office in Chicago, IL and has a start date of July 1, 2022. The Payroll Manager reports to our Managing Director of Finance, collaborates extensively with the other members of our Finance Team, and will use their accounting and financial management and analysis skills to ensure educational best-in-class accounting practices for our organization in our pursuit of educational equality and equity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the Accounts Payable function including: processing invoices, credit cards, check packets and ACH transactions for all schools and the Shared Services Center
Manage employee reimbursements
Prepare payroll entries
Manage payroll notifications
Assist in best practices for allocating and tracking staff hours and for improving the efficiency of reporting
Assist in fiscal audit preparation as it relates to restricted grant disclosures, the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards and Functional Activities
Perform other duties which may be assigned to support KIPP Chicago’s mission
Qualifications
Qualifications & Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
3+ years experience in a full-time accounting position (required)
Demonstrated experience in cash disbursements, budget, and coding (required)
Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel (required)
Experience with Excel AND SageIntacct, Expensify, Paycor ideal (preferred)
Experience in charter schools or the nonprofit sector (preferred)
Cleared CPS Background check by July 1, 2022
Documentation of COVID-19 Vaccination, or approved Medical or Religious Exemption, by July 1, 2022.

INTERVIEW PROCESS
