Position Overview:

As a talent team, we are striving to achieve ambitious staff growth goals each year, while also increasing staff retention year over year - we are searching for our second HR teammate to establish this new role and embody our core values in how they operate while completing the duties below.  The Human Resources Associate will operate with a service-oriented mentality while providing accurate information, timely responses, and facilitating human resource processes for all staff and family members at KIPP Nashville. This role will support different functions in the full life cycle of employment for the HR and Talent department, manage tasks via the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), and perform HR-related data entry where attention to detail is essential. This position will report directly to the Human Resources Manager.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the HR Associate  include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily support to staff inquiries using human resource processes
  • Promote the use of HR systems, policies, and procedures
  • Support employee engagement initiatives with timely responses for all stakeholders
  • Perform clerical duties, including but not limited to, ensuring employee files are 100% accurate and received timely,  scanning/faxing, maintaining and securing confidential documents, and properly communicating employee status changes with each respective district
  • Accurately complete employment and experience verifications 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

HRIS: 

  • Perform HRIS activities related to employee information including, but not limited to, adding/removing staff in a timely manner, organizing, customizing, and submitting various employee reports for key stakeholders, updating request and employee status changes
  • Ensure HRIS data confidentiality is maintained
  • Maintain knowledge of system updates
  • Collaborate with HR Manager to identify system enhancements and recommend solutions
  • Support the continued development and implementation

Data Entry:

  • Accurately track data for HR related activities
  • Complete weekly data entry assignments via the HRIS
  • Manage various HRIS user accounts and missing components 
  • Audit data integrity
  • Support the HR team in updating COVID-19 status changes/updates

Employee On-boarding and Off-boarding 

  • Assist with various processes, including but not limited to, communicating with new hires in timely manner, managing the receipt/completion of new hire paperwork (i.e. I-9 Form, background, and payroll documentation), and status updates for district requirements. 
  • Attend and support during new hire orientations/trainings
  • Effectively complete HR procedures to assist staff during onboarding

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 1-2 years of related work experience
  • Experience or a demonstrated interest in Human Resources is required
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills required
  • A strong work ethic with an ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment under stringent deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Relationship building skills
  • Prior Data/HR Analytics experience is a plus

Additional Information

Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience, and includes benefits. This position is non-exempt and follows a 12-month administrative schedule.
