KIPP Metro Atlanta currently operates eleven KIPP schools including four primary schools, five middle schools, one K-6 school, and one high school, as well as the KIPP Forward program which supports students through college, career, and beyond. 

Job Description

KIPP Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager.  The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the execute the Accounts Payable process, including the timely, accurate, and compliant processing of invoices.

As an Accounts Payable Manager, your core responsibilities include:

Key AP Responsibilities Weekly/Monthly

  • Oversees end-to-end Accounts Payable process
  • Executes Accounts Payable process, primarily in the Concur platform. This includes: receiving invoices and researching for duplicates or current amounts due; denying invoices that do not meet requirements and following up with vendors for correction; ensuring OCR data capture is accurate; matching invoices to schools or budget manager to assign them to appropriate approval routing; entering accurate dates to ensure invoices align with accounting periods; selecting payment accounts to ensure school expenses are paid within compliance; troubleshooting payment batch issues; troubleshooting integration issues between platforms (Concur and general ledger)
  • Manages technical elements of the Concur platform – users administration, approval routing
  • Serves as the primary Concur support point of contact and escalating issues as needed
  • Monitors invoice dashboard data and follows up with teammates to support timely processing
  • Supports users in real time with issues, as well as by creating and delivering training
  • Manages Purchase Order process for compliance with procurement policy
  • Follows up with vendors to reconcile vendor statements, ensure accurate processing of invoices (compliance with nonprofit status, other discrepancies)
  • Ensure adherence to the month end close process by holding all related parties accountable to deadlines, and collecting and storing all required documentation and support

Key Accounting Responsibilities Annually

  • Assist in annual audits
  • Update standard operating procedures
  • Maintains records in accordance with retention process
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years accounts payable experience required
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
  • Skills in an accounting software (preferred Financial Edge or Intacct)
  • Highly detailed and process -oriented
  • Demonstrated comfort in independently mastering new systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, and Word
  • Team player/self-starter/takes initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong time management skills
  • Experience working in the nonprofit sector preferred
