Job Description
The Opportunity
The Database Specialist maintains the database systems required to support the fundraising activities of the Development department. Responsibilities include managing the donor database in Raiser’s Edge for the purpose of donor tracking and gift processing. The Database Specialist is responsible for receiving and processing all financial gifts for KIPP Texas and creating donor acknowledgements. The Database Specialist will work closely with the Development team and report to the Director of Development Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all donation processing, receipting, acknowledging, and pledge management activity in Raiser’s Edge CRM system
Manage monthly financial reconciliation, data integrity of donation information, and data input, while adhering to departmental policies and procedures
Create, maintain, and execute queries and reports that track fundraising progress
Serve as the point person for list management and execution for mailings, e-communications
Support development staff on creation and distribution of newsletters, online appeals, and E-blasts
Work with Events Team to provide pre- and post- event support and to assist with volunteer projects
Manage third-party giving processes and ensure that donations received through third-party platforms are regularly processed and acknowledged
Support special projects as assigned by the Director of Development Operations
Qualifications
Education and Knowledge:
Experience in a nonprofit or fundraising environment with direct experience with data entry and gift processing
Experience working with Raiser’s Edge is required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Skills:
Handle confidential donor information with sensitivity, integrity, and accuracy
Organize and prioritize work in accordance with supervisory input
Demonstrate strong organizational and analytic skills
Take action and intercept problems
Listen and carry out tasks with a high attention to excellence and detail
Function effectively with moderate supervision
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Exceptional time management
Excellent interpersonal skills
