Job Description

POSITION & TEAM SUMMARY
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an exceptional associate for our Chief Schools Officer who oversees academics and school culture across our growing organization. The Associate of Academic Services (“AAS”) will join a strong team culture that is on a mission to unlock opportunities for the children of North and West Jacksonville.

The Chief Schools Officer currently manages school leaders across our four schools and manager or director-level positions on the shared services team that support schools. Adding the AAS position will allow for greater efficiencies across the team. 

Day-to-day functional areas for this role include effortlessly organizing and scheduling day-to-day priorities for the Chief Schools Officers plus intuitively understanding and executing on communications needs across the team. The AAS will establish trustworthy relationships across the shared services team and the schools to navigate complex and confidential situations with ease to meet the needs of the Chief Schools Officer.

This role is ideal for someone who is interested in growing into a special project, executive assistant or similar manager role in a non-profit or school system. A nurturing and empowering candidate who has a strong commitment to social and racial justice would be a natural fit for this role. The position is year round on the shared services team and may perform other duties, as assigned by their manager. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but can vary based on role and season. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides secretarial support for the office of the Chief Schools Officer (CSO) including but not limited to managing calendars, scheduling meetings, taking notes, monitoring email communication(s), and streamlining communication systems with the CSO
  • Assists with document processing and preparation of reports for academic functions, including helping the CSO to codify and formalize processes across the team
  • Assists with the editing of documents, presentations, newsletters, email blasts, etc. 
  • Assists with committee meetings, including both scheduling, agenda creation, and facilitating meetings when needed
  • Assists with office supply inventory and processes orders for the CSO and relevant team, as needed
  • Assists with organizing, setting up, and preparing materials for academic events and meetings.
  • Assist with program review and course review materials.
  • Assists with the evaluation process set-up as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Two (2) years of experience in a relevant role/field
  • Possesses a deep commitment to both racial and educational equity

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience and/or exposure to aspects of academics/education related to students, staff, etc. 
  • Prior experience as an administrative assistant in a non-profit organization
