ABOUT KIPP ALBANY COMMUNITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS (KIPP ALBANY)

KIPP Albany Community Public Charter Schools (KIPP Albany) is a network of high-performing public schools that has been committed to creating joyful, academically excellent schools in Albany since 2005.  KIPP Albany is affiliated with KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) Public Schools, a national network of over 10,000 educators serving 160,000 students and alumni. For the 2021-2022 school year, KIPP Albany schools will serve over 1,600 students in grades K-8 and will employ more than 225 staff.  We are committed to furthering anti-racism, equity, and racial justice in all our efforts, and expect all of our stakeholders to participate in this work so that we can create a future without limits for our students, together.

Further regional growth is on the horizon with the Troy Prep K-12 schools planning to join the KIPP Albany network (new name TBD) at the start of the 2022-23 school year. ABOUT KIPP TECH VALLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

KIPP Tech Valley Primary School (KTVP) is looking for mission-driven individuals who are passionate, skilled, and energized by collaboration. In 2016, our founding year, we made a bold promise to students and their families that our program would prepare students with the skills and confidence needed to pursue the paths they choose- college, career, and beyond-- so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world. We remain committed to working with our families to ensure our school is both joyful and academically excellent. To do this, we need educators and administrators who insist on balancing high expectations with empathy, and rigor with support to ensure that every KTVP student is seen, loved, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

KIPP Tech Valley Primary and Middle Schools are hiring for a shared ENL Interventionist position to support our students learning English in kindergarten through 8th grade.  Time will be spent with students in both buildings to:

•  provide push-in and pull out intervention to students learning English

• support classroom teachers to differentiate and meet the needs of students learning English via collaboration and professional development

• administer assessments and monitor progress of students over time

• build and maintain relationships with students and families

• act as a member of both schools Student Support Teams

• stays up to date on state legislation and policies around ENL programming and communicates this with school leadership

• performs other related tasks as assigned by school leadership
   

The following are required of all KIPP Albany Lead Teachers:

• Valid NYS teaching license in TESOL or similar field or willingness to pursue state certification

• Bachelor’s degree

• Pass Criminal Background Check

• At least two years of teaching experience (Highly Preferred)

• Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of under-served students (Highly Preferred)

• Commitment to anti-racism and equity
