Job Description

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

  1. Provides Tier 4 technical support by investigating, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

  2. Serves as the primary escalation point for the IT Support Services (Tier 1,2, and 3).

  3. Supports the organization’s core network solutions (WAN/LAN/WiFi/Telecom).

  4. Supports core facilities infrastructure including structured cabling. A/V, PA, security cameras, and access control.

  5. Performs tuning, monitoring, and optimization of systems and services.

  6. Performs other related job duties and training as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Skilled in diagnosing and resolving Tier 4 technical issues.

  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and assignments.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and works well in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse non-technical audiences.

  • Team oriented mindset.

Required Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or 2+ years of relevant work experience) in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field.

  • Minimum two years of professional experience in a similar role.

  • Experience with Cisco and HP switches and routers.

  • Experience with Cisco and Aruba wireless access points.

  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

  • Experience with Active Directory (AD), Microsoft Deployment Tools (MDT), and Office 365 management.

  • Demonstrated skill using VMware version - ESXi 4.1+.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience working in a school district, non-profit or government agency is a plus.

Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

  • The following certifications are a plus: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Cisco Certified Technician (CCT), VMWare Certified Associate (VCA).

Compensation and Benefits:

In addition to a competitive salary scale, a part of KIPP Texas’ competitive benefits options, KIPP offers all employees an $0 HMO plan for the employee only. In addition to our $0 plan, KIPP provides a $600 employer contribution towards a Health Savings Account and a variety of other supplemental benefits such as Dental, Vision, Short and Long-Term Disability, Pet Insurance, Life, etc.

Funding:

The IT Infrastructure Analyst will be funded directly from the Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief (ESSER) grants awarded by the Texas Education Agency under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (ESSER II) and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ESSER III). This position will be funded solely (100%) from the ESSER II and III allocation for administrative expenses through September 30, 2023, and may continue to be funded through September 30, 2024, depending upon the availability of ESSER grant funds. At the end of the grant period this position may be eliminated unless other sources of funds are secured to maintain this position or a similar position. The employee must sign this job description acknowledging receipt of the job description and signing their acknowledgement that this position is grant funded and is temporarily aligning with the terms of the grant period.
