Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The Broadcast Media Intern will (work remotely while schools remain closed):

  • Research and present viable options for equipment needed to produce a high quality podcast to include but not limited to: computer hardware, high quality microphones, high quality headphones, high quality web cameras, recording software, storage and server needs.
  • Record and edit video and audio to be used in podcast shows
  • Publish podcast segments
  • Outreach and coordinate scheduling to book contributors to participate in KTC podcasts
  • Maintain communications with KTC staff and advisors on resources available to support KIPPsters to and through college and career
  • Work with the Retention and Completion Specialists, Transition Specialist and the Career team   to gain access to resources and engagement opportunities for KIPP alumni
  • Interview KIPP alumni to identify issues and initiatives most that are of highest importance in their lives
  • Collect, record, and interpret engagement data for content produced through podcast, newsletters, Instagram, and other KTC social platforms.
  • Provide perspective on challenges and advantages of transitioning into life post-high school and accomplishing goals as an 18-24 year old

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • An interest in live broadcast production essential
  • Knowledge of video and editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Articulate
  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite programs or similar creative publishing and editing software
  • Working knowledge of Mac, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office
  • Extreme interest and passion about online video, especially YouTube
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to provide great work
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
