KIPP KC was founded in 2007 with our middle school serving grades 5-8.  In 2013 we opened our elementary school.  Today we serve 650 students in grades PreK-8, and  intend to open our High School in Fall 2021.

Job Description

The School Operations Manager is the operational leader of the school.  They are a member of the school’s leadership team and are responsible for the school’s operational excellence. The operations team’s goal is to ensure the efficient running of the school so teachers and administrators spend their time and effort focused on academic and instructional excellence. 

The School Operations Manager will report to the Director of School Operations. They will also have weekly one-on-one meetings with the school Principal. They will embrace innovation and continuous improvement, be willing to get their hands dirty, and relish the challenge of finding ways to work smarter.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Data – Delivers academic and culture data for the school in an actionable format. Manages Liveschool, Sisense, Illuminate, Infinite Campus, and Interim Assessment data, as well as ad hoc excel trackers as needed. Manages surveys, grading systems, progress reports, and official academic transcripts.

  • Enrollment and Family Relations – Implements an enrollment campaign for students to meet targets. Manages site-level enrollment systems. Builds relationships with students and families to help maintain a positive, achievement-oriented school culture. Resolves routine inquiries with parents, employees, and internal school organizations.

  • Routines – Turns the Principal’s vision into efficient processes, including entry, dismissal, hallways, uniform, breakfast, lunch, hallway passes, virtual spaces, and others determined by the DSO or Principal. Manages day-to-day activities of designated non-instructional staff.

  • Logistics and Schedules – Manages master and alternative schedules. Manages the logistics of key events, such as family nights, student-led conferences, and field trips. Manages a school-wide events calendar. Coordinates technology implementation.

  • Ordering and Budget – Keeps accurate account of all school-side spending, including curriculum, classroom supply, and field trips. Manages site-level procurement of supplies, materials, and inventory. Manages site-level third-party contracts.

  • Go to/Fix it – Acts as the general “fixer” for the school for all concerns that are not instructional or student-behavior related, including vendor, maintenance, and IT questions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least two years of Operations experience, including

    • Demonstrated success monitoring school-wide budget

    • Demonstrated success managing contracts

    • Experience with facilities management

    • Experience with data systems management

    • Experience with school scheduling management
