  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten – 7th grade
  • KIPP Bold City High School (new, coming 2021-22): 9th grade

For the 2021-22 school year, KIPP VOICE Academy will be located at 813 Golfair Blvd (32209). Our other three schools will operate at our main campus at 1440 McDuff Avenue N (32254).

Job Description

This position will be based in our regional offices in Jacksonville, FL. The position may, at times, be virtual but the expectation is that the position would primarily be face-to-face.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This is an excellent beginning position in recruitment/talent for a person that aims to have a future manager or senior role in talent or recruitment in a public education or non-profit organization.

The Recruitment Associate (“RA”) will serve on the talent team as part of the Shared Services team for KIPP Public Schools Jacksonville. The RA furthers our mission by playing a role in the identification of highly qualified candidates, attracting talent to apply to openings, screening of applicants, coordinating interviews, and ultimately matching top talent to schools in the region. The RA builds deep relationships with School Leaders, the talent team, and the regional team to ensure they are clear on talent needs and provide high-quality prospects to interview for open positions.

This role will focus primarily in the following areas:

(1)   Sourcing and outreach of potential candidates for both immediate and future roles
(2)   Coordinating logistical details for candidates, schools, and the talent team
(3)   Keeping meticulous records and updating the applicant tracking system
(4)   Screening applicants

Success would be measured by reaching outreach/sourcing goals, having high satisfaction survey ratings from candidates in process, high satisfaction ratings from School Leaders, and having ‘clean’ application tracking data.

The RA is a full-time role on the Shared Services team which oversees four schools currently and is actively planning for growth in future school years. As a member of the Shared Services team, this individual would be responsible for doing whatever it takes to ensure that students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond.

This position is year-round and performs duties as assigned by their manager. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but can vary based on role and season. Occasional travel to recruitment events during/after normal business hours would be required.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
Sourcing & Candidate Communication:

  • Source and meet with potential candidates for current and future openings (referral programs, cold sourcing, etc.)
  • Develop short- and long-term recruitment calendars in partnership with the talent team to execute best practice strategies and programs to attract a diverse applicant pool
  • Attend recruitment events across the state of Florida (and sometimes in neighboring states) to represent the organization in a professional manner
  • Act as main point of contact for candidates throughout their recruiting process
  • Lead school tours and visits for potential candidates and visitors (in person or virtually)
  • Screen applicants for specific positions using rubrics, as outlined by the talent team, and communicate score to the talent team
  • Work with School Leaders to coordinate availability, schedule interviews, demo lessons, and/or performance tasks

Logistics and Data Management:

  • Maintain detailed records of the status for each available position
  • Create detailed outreach records for potential candidates in the applicant tracking system
  • Track metrics related to recruiting (e.g., candidates yielded by each source, time to hire, etc.) to evaluate various strategies and improve hiring efficiency.
  • Plan high-quality recruitment events that attract potential candidates to the organization
  • Own the “day-of” interview/selection process in partnership with School Leaders, including travel coordination with candidates, reference checks, etc.
  • Coordinate offers with School Leaders and HR, as needed
  • Other tasks as needed by the Talent team or manager

    • Teaching, leading, or supporting in an urban public school or public charter school setting
    • Recruitment work in an education or non-profit setting

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Clear project management skills with results
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly with unfamiliar systems
  • Prior experience with SmartRecruiters, or similar ATS is a plus
  • Knowledge of Florida teacher certification pathways is a plus
