  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten – 6th grade
  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten – 7th grade
  • KIPP Bold City High School (new, coming 2021-22): 9th grade

For the 2021-22 school year, KIPP VOICE Academy will be located at 813 Golfair Blvd (32209). Our other three schools will operate at our main campus at 1440 McDuff Avenue N (32254).

Job Description

This position will be based in our regional offices in Jacksonville, FL. The position may, at times, be virtual but the expectation is that the position would primarily be face-to-face.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager of Student Recruitment and Enrollment (MSRE) is responsible for developing and executing annual student recruitment plans that ensure KIPP Public Schools Jacksonville’s enrollment goals are met for all schools and ensuring students/families have an excellent onboarding experience. The MSRE will work closely with the Senior Director of Operations and the Manager of Marketing and Communications to evaluate current student recruitment strategies and create an innovative plan of action that is unique to our community. This role is ideal for someone with strong project management skills, excellent communication skills, and local community outreach experience.

This role will focus primarily in the following areas:

(1) Sourcing of potential students/families, outreach, and coordinating logistics for outreach events to ensure student recruitment targets are met in each grade level
(2) Communicating with families to help support an easy enrollment process and ensuring
targets are met
(3) Keeping meticulous records and pulling data to answer mission critical questions

You will be successful in this role if you set and meet student recruitment/enrollment targets each year. The organization has an aggressive growth plan to increase our impact in Jacksonville. Success will also be measured by maintaining high satisfaction rates from families, and keeping data updated. This role is dependent on the ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The MSRE is a full-time role on the Shared Services team which oversees four schools currently and is actively planning for growth in future school years. As a member of the Shared Services team, this individual would be responsible for doing whatever it takes to ensure that students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond.

This position is year-round and performs duties as assigned by their manager. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but vary for this role based on the season. Some travel to community events during/after normal business hours would be required.
 

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Student Recruitment

  • Research recruitment strategies and analyze KIPP Jacksonville’s current data to continue to improve KIPP Jacksonville’s current student recruitment plan
  • Track, analyze, and report student recruitment data and adjust strategies as needed to meet benchmarks
  • Plan and attend local events to reach prospective families; ensuring there is a comprehensive plan for coverage and clear directions to stakeholders for any events that they are unable to attend (this will include both in-person and virtual options for families)
  • Develop partnerships with current and prospective student pipelines (community organizations, daycares, schools, etc.) and present to groups about KIPP Jacksonville.
  • Communicate with prospective families to engage them in KIPP’s mission and provide clarity and consistency throughout the enrollment process by organizing mailers, phone calls, and/or canvasing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders involved with family engagement and identify ways to increase engagement to aid student recruitment, retention, and enrollment efforts
  • Collaborate with the external relations team to develop and ensure all student recruitment marketing materials are consistent and aligned to KIPP Jacksonville’s brand and messaging

Student Enrollment

  • Progress monitor student enrollment plan and partner with school leadership to execute on all strategies
  • Track, analyze, and report student enrollment data and problem-solve with school leadership to ensure benchmarks are met
  • Lead ongoing student enrollment meetings with each school
  • Support school leaders in creating and executing strong plans for student matriculation from school to school
  • Collaborate with school leadership on how to motivate, train, and ensure accountability of staff participating in enrollment activities
  • Plan and execute all internal student enrollment events (open houses, new student orientations, tours, etc.)
  • Collaborate with staff members hosting events for current families to identify opportunities for re-enrollment or student recruitment efforts
  • Develop strong re-enrollment systems for current families
  • Manage the student enrollment platform and data
  • Manage all student records, including organizing file system, receiving records, and sending records

Qualifications

    

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the education or non-profit setting
  • Track record of producing exceptional results
  • Willingness to have a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills (i.e. speaking to groups and designing a scope and sequence of written communications to a group)
  • Experience with indirect management. This role doesn’t manage others but must influence and collaborate with others to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to set large goals and then work to set interim benchmarks to meet targets
  • High level of comfort with learning and using platforms to track student data

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience within student/staff recruitment, and/or community/grassroots organizing
  • Proficiency with marketing design program (PowerPoint, Publisher, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Experience using SchoolMint and/or a student information system
