Job Description
The COVID Specialist will join a statewide COVID Response Team to support COVID prevention and response strategies across KIPP Texas. The Specialist contributes to the mission of KIPP Texas by supporting a safe in-person return for our staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily interviews with employees who fail their health and wellness survey or temperature check
Work closely with school-based COVID Response teams to ensure all surveying, testing, and quarantine protocols are implemented with fidelity
Work closely with the Human Resources team to coordinate employees leaves as required by COVID illness/quarantines
Manage the reporting of confirmed cases to the TEA and local health officials as required by law
Monitor employees who are on leave for COVID-related reasons and manage return-to-work procedures
Manage the Work.com contact tracing platform and maintain accurate data records, including updating the COVID dashboards on the KIPP Texas website
Support statewide COVID Response Team with communications, policy updates, and trainings as needed
Because this role supports COVID response, which is by its nature unpredictable at times, this position will often require evening or weekend work. This temporary role is non-exempt and eligible for overtime.
Qualifications
Education and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred
Proficiency with data entry
Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy required
Excellent organizational skills required
Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to demonstrate empathy
Proven written communication skills
Strong verbal skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information and directions
Strong typing skills are required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Proficiency using computers, printers, copy machines, and fax machines
Spanish fluency highly preferred
