Job Description
Responsibilities of a KIPP Nashville Interim Substitute Teacher include, but are not limited to:
Instruction
Reviews the plans and schedule to be followed during the instructional day with the Principal or designated staff member
Teaches the lessons prepared
Reports the day’s activities at the conclusion of each day and provides other feedback as requested
follows all district policies, rules and procedures to which Lead Teachers are subject and good teaching practice dictates
Student Management
Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms to which he/she is assigned
Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and at other times during the school day, as requested
Maintains appropriate student behavior at all times throughout the school day
Flexibly Support
Engage flexibly and adaptively to the needs of students across the school per the discretion of the Principal
This engagement could include, but is not limited to covering a classroom when a teacher is out, pulling small groups for intervention, moving into classroom positions should a staff member transition during the school year, classroom observations, and supporting school-wide procedures such as lunch, arrival, and dismissal.

Qualifications
Minimum of 60 credit hours of college coursework; bachelor’s preferred
Pass Criminal Background Check
Experience and demonstrated success working with students from educationally under-resourced communities (Highly Preferred)
