Job Description
KEY FUNCTION
The Merchandising Managers are the leaders and key contacts for the local/regional execution of the procurement strategy. They meet the requirements of Collection needs locally by allocating products to vendors and negotiating prices, lead time and quality in accordance with technical service/quality department.
In the Merchandising Manager position, we recognize the seniority and expertise as subject matter experts.
In the collaborative organization, they are co-leaders of the self-organized cell. Are responsible to reach and exceed the cell objectives defined by the leadership team by developing efficiency and competitiveness of the cell. They coordinate with other team members to deliver the best product with the best quality at the best price. As team players, they share best practices within and across cells and business partners.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
- Decide supplier allocation locally based on procurement strategy
- Develop and populate fair business behavior keeping in mind social compliance and environmental as a priority
- Manage the product development before Order Confirmation with vendors to meet collection requirements
- Filter with Kiabi eyes, propose one sample to GPM
- Negotiate final prices based on targets received from GPM
- Monitor capacity booking with vendors
- Lead buying trips execution with Collection (trip organization, showrooms preparations, price negotiation during trip, vendor selection)
- Negotiate claims with vendors
- Set and meet target for supplier performance
- Actively visit suppliers on a regular basis to keep abreast of their competences and activities
- Provide Local/regional sourcing and market intelligence (look for and propose innovative products, fabrics, facilities, etc.)
- Identify and source new supplier, visit the new supplier’s facilities
- Follow up with suppliers to update/sign MSA
- Distribute and implement the new norms and procedures to vendors and ensure the training
- Provide guidance, advice, and support to their less experienced peers to help them develop and be more efficient.
- Be responsible for defining, getting the validation and respecting the travel expenses budget.
- Contribute and be actor in company projects to develop efficiency and support changes of the organization
- Including but not limited to the previous responsibilities, the company can also require the Merchandising Manager to carry out other duties (tasks, projects, temporary missions, etc.) that may be assigned by the Leadership on specific matters.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Relevant experience to the position (reference +10 years)
- Relevant technical knowledge for the position.
- Fluent in English and local language, oral and written.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
- Higher Diploma in Textile / University graduate
