KAEFER are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Administrator to join our busy South Australian Operations Team in South Australia.

The position responsibilities include:

  • Review IFC drawings and prepare Bill of Quantities
  • Estimate the quantity and costs of materials
  • Tendering, negotiation and selection of contractors / subcontractors
  • Preparation of contracts / subcontracts
  • Set budgets for payments, inventory needs, and materials
  • Assist project setup for schedule and cost alignment via Cost Coding.
  • Track changes in plans or constructions; update budgets
  • Prepare and administer contractual correspondence, notices, claims
  • Act as a liaison between clients and site managers/engineers
  • Keep track of construction materials and inventory
  • Identify potential financial or construction risks
  • Advise clients on improvements, strategies, and/or estimated costs
  • Prepare progress & productivity data for payment applications and invoicing
  • Document Weekly & Monthly project reporting.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with contractors and subcontractors
  • Utilize software to calculate, record, and track inventory and estimates
  • Analyse completed projects to determine and compare costs and prepare final accounts

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, constructing engineering, management or related field
  • 5-10 years’ years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience, construction experience, or related field
  • Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to analyse financial records and apply data to improved results
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills
  • In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing in the mining and oil & gas industry
  • Experience in rates reimbursable, cost plus and lump sum projects
