KAEFER Integrated Services are seeking an experienced Projects Accountant to join our busy South Australian operations team and will be based in Adelaide.

The position responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the day to day accounting function.
  • Produces payroll by initiating processing and verifying finished product.
  • Review payroll data and complete reconciliation against billing in line with relevant project.
  • Manage the establishment and maintenance of cost coding system in accordance with the Cost Categories established for the project.
  • Liaise with project team to manage cost tracking and purchase commitments ensuring they are in accordance with the established Cost Categories.
  • Monitor and report the physical progress (work performed) consistent with the cost coding system.
  • Complete billing in line with the project requirements
  • Prepare weekly project cost report including forecast and actual data with deviation analysis.
  • Issue weekly project cost report to the Project Manager(s) detailing real or potential cost impacts.
  • Tracking, review and follow up of outstanding issues on projects with cost impacts
  • Visits to operational sites to assist/audit process and system development in line with business goals and monitor project cost control
  • Assist in the month end ledger reporting and reconciliation and discussions with Project Manager(s)
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

To be considered for this role:

  • An eye for detail and accuracy with numbers.
  • Proficient in the use of the Office 365 Suite especially Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in the use of SAP & SAP Ariba.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance is preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting/finance in general construction 
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills for professional reports and written correspondence, particularly with Contractual / Commercial terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Able to work under pressure, multi-task, together with the capacity to plan and prioritise workloads in order to meet deadlines;
