PURPOSE

Jumpgate is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead and manage the software development work for the organization. The work will include coordinating alignment between client and internal teams consisting of Architects, Team Leads, Scrum Masters, and Developers. This role will engage with clients and team members to ensure products and services are delivered in an organized, efficient manner managing the project resources, margins and timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery Management

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of all projects by developing quality project plans, estimate and allocate resources, monitor project execution, and ensure budgets and timelines are met.
• Manage cross-functional teams and oversee the dependencies for complex projects across multiple functions and business units.
• Communicate consistently and effectively both with internal leaders and clients, including leading and participating in team stand-up meetings.
• Identify and solve risks and issues, collaborating with the team to mitigate and remove barriers to progress.
• Oversee the technology execution across all areas to ensure business outcomes are delivered to expectations.
• Coordinate across team leaders to ensure scope that is technically feasible.

Leadership

• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Develop and provide status reports to internal leadership.
• Work with the leadership team to design and prepare pricing schedules and cost/price models in response to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
• Build a collaborative culture to facilitate project delivery and development of staff.

NECESSARY SKILLS

• Strong communication skills including verbal, written, and technical writing and the ability to express technical concepts in business terms.
• Expert level knowledge in software development processes.
• Understanding of core business and business development processes.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Expert level skills in client service.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients.
• Able to manage and meet multiple competing priorities.
• Able to influence and work across multiple organizations and levels.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in information management, computer science, or another closely related field.
• 7+ years management experience, including managing projects and teams.
• 3+ years of technology delivery experience.
• Prior management consulting experience.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in mobile and web application development.
• Experience in both Agile and Waterfall software development.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Azure DevOps or AWS.
• Big 8 consulting experience.
