A Bit About Us

We’re working with AO.com, who are currently embarking on a hugely exciting internal transformation; transitioning development teams to fully independent, autonomous and cross functional product teams; a business wide initiative led by CEO John Roberts.

Currently they have over twenty development teams and a tech department of over two hundred people.

As part of this transformation they’re rearchitecting their platforms to separate the estate into independently deployable products, around which they’re rebuilding cross functional teams within a Team of Teams structure; groups of teams with shared objectives and overarching goals

More About the Role

As a senior member of a squad, not only will you lead and facilitate technical decision making, you’ll be the one the rest of the squad turn to for guidance.

A coach and mentor, you’ll help less experienced developers on their journey in producing better, cleaner and intentional code. You’ll help them better understand agile ways of working, enabling the team to work as one to creatine better outcomes and raise the bar right across the team.

It goes without saying that you’ll also be getting your hands dirty, producing top drawer code and applications

 A Few Things About You

You have a deep understanding of C#, .NET, knowledge of AWS or Azure is desirable, along with frameworks, tools and best practice, and extensive experience in architecture, API design and building scalable, distributable, maintainable and high-performance software.

You ‘get’ principles and patterns and how they translate into modern software development.

An agile evangelist, you understand everything from ceremonies to WIP & pull systems and obsess about improving ways of working.

A natural communicator, you’re able to flex your style to convey ideas to a variety of audience types, both technical and non-technical alike.

You thrive on bringing out the best in those around you, you favour coaching, mentoring, collaboration and empowerment over heroism.
