Job Description
🔧 What You Will Do
Under minimal supervision, you’ll perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of building automation and control systems. You’ll also serve as a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them achieve greater efficiency while mentoring and supporting other technicians.
⚙️ How You Will Do It
Diagnose & repair complex control system malfunctions (multiple programming languages & digital controls)
Conduct site assessments & consultations, providing technical recommendations & retrofit/upgrade proposals
Mentor and support controls & service technicians on building automation systems
Provide customer training and deliver documentation/manuals as required
Manage assigned projects to ensure timely, professional execution & customer satisfaction
Prepare quotes and promote add-on work opportunities
Collaborate with branch leadership, sales teams, and subcontractors
Maintain accurate project/service documentation (certificates, training forms, close-outs)
Support design & configuration of building control systems (diagrams, sequences of operations, layouts, schematics)
Assist in software programming, system commissioning & validation
Ensure compliance with safety standards while leading by example onsite
Qualifications
✅ What We Look For
Required:
🛠️ Minimum 4 years’ commercial controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry (including buildings, chiller plants, and systems)
🎓 Graduate of a vocational school program, associate degree in a technical field, or 2+ years’ experience in servicing electronic/mechanical systems
⚡ Demonstrated ability to install & service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment
💬 Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
📝 Strong writing skills and ability to work with software applications
📚 Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation, and building subsystems
🤝 Willingness to be a dedicated member of a branch team, focusing on troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services
