Job Description
This is a position in Steer’s Export Department. The position’s responsibilities include the full range of tasks related to Export operations, including but not limited to: producing, reviewing and distributing Export/export documentation; providing customer service via telephone, e-mail and other communication methods; providing internal support to other Export operations personnel, team members, team leaders or managers as assigned; special projects/tasks as assigned; administrative projects/tasks as assigned.
Export Operations personnel must have a desire to succeed, a commitment to Steer’s company values and be detail-oriented in the execution of their work. These individuals are also learning as they perform in their position, and therefore should be attentive to retaining and implementing learned processes to the best advantage of the company.
Export Operations personnel are encouraged also to take advantage of external training and related opportunities to improve their understanding of the industry or of applicable business functions—such as computer learning, technical training in logistics, banking, Export/export documentation and so on. Similarly, there are opportunities for internal training, webinars on industry topics, publications to review, and inter-departmental cross-training, for example, that staff are encouraged to participate in and that will improve their education and performance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent work experience in international trade or logistics required.
- Must have 2-5 years of hands-on experience in export/import logistics, freight forwarding and/or NVOCC-related work.
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience of indirectly managing resources from different areas of the business to achieve a common objective, with no direct management responsibility for those people.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to deal with multiple demands on time and resource.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to rapidly develop strong rapport and build relationships with individuals and teams at multiple levels of the organization.
- Will require direct communications with customers alongside leadership, sales, and operations team members.
