We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing our data infrastructure and pipelines. You will be responsible for managing complex data engineering projects, ensuring data quality and reliability, and driving innovation in data processing and analytics.

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows to support data processing and analytics needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Implement and manage data modeling, data transformation, and data integration processes to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Architect and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions to enable advanced analytics and reporting.
• Work with Apache Spark to handle large-scale data processing and storage.
• Design and implement real-time data streaming solutions for capturing and processing streaming data.
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant data regulations and company policies.
• Establish data quality monitoring and data governance processes to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
• Optimize data engineering workflows and systems for improved performance and scalability.
• Mentor and guide junior data engineering team members, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

• University degree in economics with a technical focus, business informatics or any other related area of study
• Extensive professional experience in data engineering
• Affinity for the Internet and a keen interest in e-commerce
• Practice know-how in relational and multidimensional data modeling
• Practice know-how in data warehouse solutions
• Technologies: SQL, Python, Databricks, JSON, ETL-tools (Airflow), Amazon AWS (Azure, GCP)
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka).
• Fluent in spoken and written English, knowledge of the German Language is a plus
• Strong communication and leadership abilities to effectively mentor and lead a team.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to initiate, manage and automate our routines to gather (un)structured data from several different data sources and load it into our cloud-based Data Warehouse.

You will work within our Business Intelligence team, which consists of Data Engineers, Data Scientist and Data Analysts. Furthermore, you will work closely with other IT departments to ensure the operation of our data warehouse. Our Data Engineers work with the latest technologies to build our Data Warehouse as the single point of truth for the company.
