- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in Symantec NetBackup 5.X, 6.X, 7.X 

- Software Versions- hands on experience on 5.X, 6.X & 7.X, Advantages of new over previous, Difference with previous release and EMM Structure. 

- Backup Architecture, Master server, Media server, Client, EMM server, Ops Center, Tape Library and Disks storage units. 

- Experience in monitoring/troubleshooting Virtual tape library performance (VTL). 

- Understanding the daemon flow, working knowledge of NetBackup GUI and CLI. 

- Concepts and good knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of Oracle, MSSQL, DB2 and SAP backups. 

- Understanding on NDMP configuration and troubleshooting. 

- Must have good understanding on integration, configuration and troubleshooting of virtual machines running on any virtualization platform like VMware, Hyper V, etc... 

- Hands on experience on configuration of Volume Pools, Storage Units, SLP, Policies, Tape drives and Robot. 

- Detail understanding working & configuration of Vmware VIP policies. 

- Good understanding of Netbackup logging (unified & legacy). 

- Troubleshooting of backup failures by analyzing the logs. 

- Installation and Configuration of Master/Media servers and clients. 

- Daily backup status, health check, performance reporting and monitoring. 

- Should have basic knowledge of OS flavours like AIX, Linux, Windows2003, 2008, etc at least to manage B&R related tasks. 

- Should have good communication and customer interaction skills. 

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting (problem determination/resolution) skills. 

- Knowledge of configuration of Netbackup working with EMC Data Domain. 

- Strong troubleshooting skill for EMC Data Domain related issues.
