Job Description
Borderless NGO is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as Deputy Director. The Deputy Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing the organization's day-to-day operations, managing various functional areas, and supporting the pursuit of new projects. The ideal candidate should bring a wealth of experience in NGO operations, program management, and business development. This role requires a dynamic and forward-thinking individual capable of balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational management. The Deputy Director will be instrumental in driving the organization's growth and impact.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's operations.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure seamless coordination among different functions, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of organizational policies and procedures, making adjustments as needed.
Program Support:
- Work closely with program managers to provide operational support for the successful execution of projects.
- Conduct regular assessments of ongoing programs, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Contribute to the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program impact.
Financial Management:
- Oversee the financial health of the organization, ensuring the proper allocation of resources and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Conduct financial analyses and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with the finance team to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy.
NGO Development:
- Identify funding opportunities by conducting market research and staying informed about donor priorities.
- Collaborate with the business development team to prepare and submit compelling project proposals.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential donors, partners, and other stakeholders.
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to align operational activities with long-term organizational goals.
- Provide input on strategic decisions and offer recommendations for organizational growth.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks to the organization's operations and develop strategies for mitigating these risks.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and keep abreast of changes that may impact the organization.
Communication and Reporting:
- Foster effective internal and external communication channels.
- Prepare and present regular reports on organizational performance to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in NGO operations, program management, and NGO development.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
