Job Description

East Architecture Studio is seeking a Senior Architect / Design Coordinator with strong experience designing and coordinating medium to large commercial and institutional projects. The successful candidate must understand the business of architecture and the importance of schedule driven projects, client driven goals and objectives, implementation of design phases, standards and branding during the design process. This role requires a professional degree in Architecture, plus six (4+) or more years of progressive experience. 

Role Requirements:

  • Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client’s needs. 
  • Organize, attend, coordinate daily meetings with stakeholders including the design team, speciality consultants and client representatives.
  • Ability to work within tight schedules, identify problems, formulate solutions, and result oriented.
  • Deploy strong leadership skills
  • Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination during construction of medium size projects.
  • Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs.
  • Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. 
  • Ability to complete a full set of contract documents from schematic phase to CD phase, construction documents to close-out.
  • Proficient in BIM (Revit), AutoCAD, Rhino and other 3D modeling software
  • Extensive experience is required in coordinating with multiple design disciplines such as client rep, civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Expert level architectural detailing
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced architects/architectural staff.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.

2. Proven extensive experience (at least 6 years) in architectural design.

3. Know-how of Revit software, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your expertise in creating complex architectural models and documentation.

4. In-depth knowledge, experience and understanding of structural systems, materials, and construction techniques.

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative design solutions while considering technical and budgetary constraints.

6. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to effectively interact with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

7. Leadership qualities and experience in overseeing architectural projects from inception to completion.

8. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet project deadlines.
