As the first Backend Data Engineer for the Data Science team, you will help establish the groundwork for our cloud ML platform to enable a wide range of new product features. You will be a key contributor to maintaining and scaling a high-quality production service. You should be

• Experienced at designing clean, usable APIs.

• Experienced with cloud compute services.

• Excited about high-volume data and solving the challenges it poses.

• Excited about implementing ML solutions to address real-world problems

• Interested in building high-availability, performant, and scalable systems.

• A strong communicator eager to collaborate with other teams.

• A deep-diver when it comes to production issues, digging into metrics and logs as needed to run a problem to the ground.

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a quantitative or technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 

• 3+ years professional software engineering experience

• Working experience programming in Python.

• Experience building CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with cloud compute such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Experience building and working with containers.

• Fluent in English.
