Job Description

Our Director of Public Relations and Social Media will join our DreamTeam of dedicated professionals to help build the most exciting experiential travel and event design boutique in the business, You will help with an immediate scaling up of the first business while taking it global in 2021. While most companies are reeling from the current environment, DreamMaker is considering this post Covid-19 environment an opportunity that deserves solutions perhaps only DreamMaker can create.

As our Director of PR & Social Media, you are responsible for executing strategies you will help formulate, namely the strategy required to reach our tiny niche market in collaboration with the Chief Marketing Officer and our founder, the Chief Creative Officer. Our CEO is located in Beirut, Lebanon and we plan to form a small marketing team of four (three in Digital/SEO/Content management) of which you will be managing.

Why Lebanon? The truth is we have accomplished team members all over the world. We look for the best talent in economies that allow us the greatest bang for our dollar. We pay scale based on the local economy (not USA/UK rates!) as this makes it very difficult to compete with, even if someone could compete with our service and product , which they can’t, they would have a tough time setting up an international platform as we have.

You would be responsible for implementing the marketing strategies that cultivate our relationships with the media, engage our target audience, and boost our brand awareness with an award-winning website that has never had an inquiry! 

As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Public Relations &  Social Media is expected to be responsible for brand strategy, developing social media and marketing campaigns, creative execution of campaigns, and guest engagement. A comprehensive understanding of major social media platforms is required.

This position also oversees DreamMaker’s multiple video productions (and two full time video producers/editors), and blog content strategy as well as DreamMaker’s social media efforts. The candidate must also have a strong track record of developing narratives, fostering relationships with media and influencers, writing, and placing strong stories across media and channels. If you have not honed your skills as yet to write world class Press Releases, you are wasting your time applying for this position.

The candidate should be able to adapt to dynamic situations, act proactively, and maintain focus on strategic imperatives. The candidate should also have experience in building consensus with internal stakeholders and partners.

Responsibilities as to Social Media ~ The Director, Social Media Strategy is responsible for driving the overall integrated social media strategy for DreamMaker corporate in order to increase engagement, affinity, good will, conversion and advocacy for the company. As the senior-most social strategist on the corporate team, you also will validate enterprise and function social media strategies and look for opportunities to increase impact across the organization. Also, you will work with others to create and execute issues and crisis plans and will operate as the social crisis lead for DreamMaker. Day-to-day, you will oversee strategy implementation, course correct, assess results and evaluate outcomes.

 

Additionally: 

  • Oversee all aspects of corporate strategy execution, including campaign development and execution, content creation and channel strategy as well as measurement and insights

  • Build an integrated, company wide corporate social media strategy for DreamMaker’s identity  - we are interested in reaching only one target market - individuals with $30,000,000 USD in the bank in cash (not assets) as this demo are the only ones who can afford our vacations

  • Work collaboratively with social media governance; offer counsel to earlier-in-career social media strategists; review and validate their strategies and align them to the overall company’s social media strategyEstablish from scratch DreamMaker’s presence on existing platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram

  • Making certain of our timely Communications with social media followers

  • Monitor and evaluate DreamMaker’s social media presence (though we are very niche, we do want to have a robust social media presence as our suppliers have millennial employees who are judging the “value” of our business by our followings)

  • Staying up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media

  • Analyzing data to determine whether marketing and social media campaigns have achieved their objectives; update and change strategy on a rolling basis

  • Experience managing and executing paid and earned digital marketing including display, PPC, paid social, SEM, SEO, etc.

  • Experience with web analytics platforms: Google Analytics, Adobe or Coremetrics

  • May require to travel up to 15 % of the year throughout Europe and the Middle East.

We are looking for a trustworthy, creative, tech-savvy Director of Public Relations & Social Media that is passionate not only about the PR placement of stories benefitting our brands, but the social media landscape and establishing a brand presence.

 

Qualifications For Director Of Public Relations & Social Media

  • Strong storytelling skills to support the creative process; possess a solid sense of branding and aesthetics 

  • Master communicator, including writing and public speaking

  • Attention to detail, proficiency in Time Management and knowledge of Design & Project Management, Organizational Skills, and Budgeting

  • Provides project management for organization-wide projects/initiatives as required, facilitating team efforts and helping to define project goals, timelines, resource requirements, and planning to cope with conflict or stressor points in the plans

  • Team management skills

  • Creativity - though our cup runneth over, we need people who can solve problems and get us to the promised land; this includes shaping/pitching articles we want placed vs. just feeding the press what they think they need or asked for 

  • PowerPoint as you will be expected to be involved with all marketing partnership presentations and help with the content on all brochures/website presentations

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead creative and technical teams with a spirit of collaboration

  • A minimum of five years of experience in leading public relations is required

  • Expert in media planning and media pitching both national and international media outlets, particularly in the luxury space

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including relationship building

  • Outstanding project management and prioritization capability

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • APR certified is a plus

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of experience with Social Media Management and/or Marketing experience

  • Extensive experience with major social media platforms

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Familiarity with photo composition, color, and editing

  • Exceptional analytic and multitasking skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or another relevant field

To qualify for this position. you must meet all of the requirements and there are two in particular; we don’t like having to be so candid but a lot of applicant’s time (and ours) as well has been completely wasted and it is best to be very clear as to our expectations.

That will eliminate any chance of qualification unless one you speak and write PERFECT English, French and Arabic. If you went only to a English school, we will consider the absence of French though it’s a strong tie breaker at the end of the day.

You must be very experienced at writing world class press releases, each of which cost us over $1.500.00 USD to distribute.

3rd

It is absolutely a requirement that your English writing (from a creative standpoint) is excellent ~ not just from the standpoint of using a robust vocabulary but truly knowing how to write in a succinct and with style. We do not allow “brochure talk” - our clients don’t like to be sold and already know “Paris is the epicenter of art, gastronomy and culture”. They want to know what we will do differently for them.
