Job Description

-          Support the development and implementation of strategies - Participate in the development of the procurement strategy with the business development manager – For each type of product, recommend whether to use spot market, long-term contracts, or vertical integration for strategic rationale and cost savings.

-          Manage budget - Achieve objectives of cost reduction to meet company objectives and remain leader in competing market space. Ensure bought out goods and materials were acquired at a price consistent with the cost requirement of the project. Identify material cost savings through strategic sourcing using a different supplier manufacturing process. 

-          Meet all KPIS 100%. – support and track KPIs and contractual commitments, develop processes and tools to measure kpis.

-          Improve internal system efficiencies. Identifies and implements improvements to streamline and automate process flows. Develop and implement solutions to solve procurement and contractual problems.

-          Visit distribution centers and plants to learn about products, services, prices. Prepare reports on the suppliers and vendors, choose vendors, negotiate contract terms, attend trade shows, conferences, meetings to keep up to date with industry trends and network with new suppliers.

-          Manage company stock – Verify availability of items, reduce inventory by 30%. Work with supply chain to develop inventory management system and optimize cash flow.

-          Assist the accounting department in preparing invoices, tracking payments, stock entry and deliveries.

-          Create a vendor list (mill or manufacturers or distributors – mel to check files in dora) for each category of product, and build relationships with vendors – Establish primary and secondary sources of supply – Evaluate vendors based on price, quality, availability, reliability and technical support, and LEAD TIME. Research supply base and industry / marketplace for sourcing materials and / or services and select appropriate vendors for each project - Negotiate sales agreements to purchase the required products, award contracts to the vendors, and continue to administer these contracts throughout the relationship.

-          Research and compare products and services from suppliers in order to decide what will be most compatible for the company

-          Analyze and source material, equipment, for suppliers, pricing, product description, lead times for POs and or contracts.

-          Liaison between supplier’s and business units to ensure scope of work specifications of materials pricing terms and conditions and delivery schedules are outlined and confirmed.

-          Collaborate with business process team to eliminate process defects by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions resulting in po placement on time and cost reduction and production yields and yearly cost savings due to negotiation pricing reduction.

-          Meet manufacturing schedule

 -          Assist in estimating the costs and choose the right suppliers to save money according to target prices – Develop a supplier evaluation tool, do extensive industry research, meet with salespeople, compare products and prices, and know how to negotiate the best rates and contractual terms.

-          Manage suppliers – Supplier evaluation - Oversee quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness. Periodically review suppliers, launch improvement programs where required. Always think of ways to eliminate waste and variability.

-          Be proactive in determining needs – Use industry knowledge and competition analysis to determine what the company needs from machinery to new tools and new suppliers on the market.

-          Work on continuous improvement/Total Cost of Ownership projects both internally and externally together with operations, maintenance, engineering and suppliers.

-          Oversee the integrity of inventory data and vendor files

-          Provide assistance to the estimating department in working on boqs and feasibility studies

-          Provide assistance to Business development manager in achieving accurate forecasts to meet targets.

-          Preparing and issuing internal and external reports on current metal market prices and spending within company etc

-          Assist in marketing activities such as social media exposure, rebranding, etc..

-          Participate in daily tasks such as preparing POs, supervise fuel consumption, ensure all shipment documents are well maintained, etc…

-          Provide analytical and project management support

Attention to details and experience in procurement/cost control in the construction industry
