Company Description
Established by a Royal Charter in May 1968, Bank of Bhutan (BoB) is the oldest bank in the country. It also acted as the Central Bank of Bhutan till the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan was set up in 1982. Registered under the Companies Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan 2000, as a public sector commercial bank, it was the country’s only banking institution until 1997.
Today, BoB has the distinction of being the largest commercial bank in Bhutan, making its presence felt in every Dzongkhag, and Major Township through a network of 38 branch offices. With the adoption of Core Banking Solution in 2009, banking operations were automated. This saw the emergence of ATMs, Internet Banking, POS and Mobile & Agency Banking Services as alternate channels to deliver banking services.
As on 31st December, 2016 the paid up capital was Nu. 3,000 million and shares were held by Druk Holding & Investments (DHI) and the State Bank of India in the ratio of 80:20 respectively. In 2007, DHI took control over the country’s public sector companies, including Bank of Bhutan, which until then was under the Ministry of Finance.
BoB provides a wide range of financial products and services, such as deposits, loans, trade finance and money market as well as facilitating financial transactions of customers. As a primary member of VISA and MasterCard, its services include acquiring and issuing of Credit and Debit cards. It also offers e-payment gateway services. To enhance customer convenience and to serve the under-banked and unbanked population, BoB launched “Mobile & Agency Banking” services (mBoB) on May 15th, 2015, which enables customer using a smart phone to access the bank from anywhere and at any time. By leveraging the Mobile Banking platform, BoB is also embarking on Agency Banking, to take its services to the rural unbanked population.
Job Description
Job Description: 1. Project Management and Testing 1. Taking up customization requests and CBS software enhancements with CBS vendor, for timely completion and arrange for rolling out the tested patches into CBS Production environment. 2. Ensure patches are tested properly, with regression testing as well, before moving into the production environment. 3. Ensure progress and achievement on project activities and milestones as per the approved plan. 4. Review and finalize UAT report for final sign off from all stakeholders. 5. Ensure readiness for deployment. 6. Ensure that development of training content for the end users through the vendor. 7. Prepare training plan and trainers for branch roll-outs, and manage project budget. 2. Management & Execution 1. Ability to provide technical support on TCS BaNCS Core Banking integration with other banking products. 2. Configuration, patches, update and upgrade management of the Core Banking System. 3. Manage and support integration of the CBS with other interconnected applications. 4. Provide business analysis and requirements gathering support for end-users. 5. Draft and implement the IT Disaster Recovery Plan in collaboration with the IT team. 6. Ensure that CBS application, tools and data are available on the disaster recovery site at any time required. 7. Document any necessary procedure related to Core Banking application for reference. 8. Anticipates Core Banking application problems and implement preventive measures. 9. Investigate and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize CBS application availability. 10. Develop management information reports and dashboard using applicable tools. 11. Manage Service Level Agreement (SLA) with application service providers. 12. Handle and implement requests for application customizations. 13. Provide end-user trainings, and 14. Investigate user problem
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience in relevant field.
