Job Description

The Physical Security Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, configuration, installation, testing, and commissioning of integrated electronic security systems, including CCTV, Access Control Systems (ACS), and Intrusion Detection & Alarm Systems (IDAS). The engineer will ensure all systems are implemented according to project requirements, international standards, and client specifications while providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Engineering

  • Develop and review system designs, schematics, and shop drawings for CCTV, ACS, and IDAS.

  • Prepare device layouts, riser diagrams, cable routing, and power/networking plans.

  • Ensure all designs comply with client specifications, HCIS, SEC, or MOI standards, and project scope.

  • Participate in technical submittal preparation and handle design-related queries from clients or consultants.

2. Installation & Configuration

  • Supervise or support the installation of cameras, access control devices, panels, and sensors.

  • Configure and integrate systems using manufacturer software and network tools.

  • Verify proper functionality of all field devices, controllers, and network connectivity.

  • Conduct pre-commissioning and final testing to ensure full system performance.

3. Commissioning & Support

  • Perform system commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting for CCTV, ACS, and IDAS.

  • Conduct system acceptance testing (SAT/FAT) and prepare related reports.

  • Provide technical support and on-site guidance to project and maintenance teams.

  • Support preparation of as-built drawings, configuration backups, and O&M documentation.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, and site supervisors for smooth execution.

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure compatibility of components.

  • Support procurement by reviewing technical datasheets, material submittals, and compliance lists.

  • Attend site meetings, client inspections, and technical workshops as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, or Computer Engineering.

  • Minimum 3–6 years of experience in physical security systems.

  • Proven expertise in:

    • CCTV Systems: IP/Analog, PTZ, VMS platforms (e.g., Axis, Bosch, Milestone, Genetec).

    • Access Control Systems (ACS): Controllers, readers, locks, Lenel, HID, or equivalent.

    • Intrusion Detection & Alarm Systems (IDAS): Motion sensors, glass break detectors, sirens.

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (switches, IP addressing, VLANs).

  • Familiar with AutoCAD, Excel-based BOQ preparation, and system documentation.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with LenelS2, Bosch, Honeywell, or Axis solutions.

  • Knowledge of HCIS, Aramco, or SEC standards.

  • Certification in any major security platform (Lenel, Milestone, Genetec, Axis, etc.) is an advantage.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and low-current drawings.

  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
