The scope of work:

Mechanical Engineer

  1. Project Planning and Coordination:
  • Develop comprehensive MEP project plans encompassing scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with the project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate MEP requirements seamlessly into the overall terminal construction schedule.
  • Ensure alignment of MEP activities with critical project milestones and deliverables.

2. Contractor Management:

  • Select, negotiate contracts with, and manage MEP contractors and subcontractors.
  • Oversee contractor performance, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular meetings and site inspections to monitor progress, resolve issues promptly, and maintain effective communication channels.

 

3. Design Review and Coordination:

  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and consultants to review MEP design drawings and specifications.
  • Verify design compliance with airport terminal requirements, building codes, and local regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to resolve design conflicts or discrepancies.

 

4. Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure MEP systems meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to verify installation quality, functionality, and performance of MEP systems.
  • Develop and execute testing and commissioning procedures to validate MEP system operations before terminal occupancy.

 

5. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks related to MEP installations and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and assess project risks regularly, implementing adjustments to minimize impact on schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals in MEP system design and implementation.

6. Budget and Cost Control:

  • Monitor project expenditures related to MEP activities and manage the MEP budget effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures without compromising safety, quality, or compliance.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and forecasts for MEP components throughout the project lifecycle.

 

7. Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations among all MEP contractors and team members.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive hazard identification throughout the MEP construction phases.

 

8. Client and Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for MEP-related inquiries, updates, and reporting to clients and stakeholders.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively through written reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Address client concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction and maintaining positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

 

9. Commissioning and Handover:

  • Oversee MEP system commissioning, testing, and integration with other terminal systems (such as HVAC, lighting, security).
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation and record-keeping of MEP installations, certifications, and warranties.
