Job Purpose
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Category Manager to join our team at Sleep Comfort. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and growing assigned product categories (mainly furniture and mattresses) by analyzing market trends, developing pricing strategies, and working closely with the sales, marketing, and product development teams to ensure optimal product performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage product categories (furniture, mattresses, accessories) across all Sleep Comfort showrooms and sales channels.
Analyze sales data, consumer trends, and market insights to make data-driven decisions on product selection, pricing, and placement.
Work closely with the sales team to develop promotional and seasonal plans that drive category performance.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure proper stock availability.
Collaborate with marketing to ensure alignment on campaigns, branding, and product positioning.
Maintain and update product information, pricing structures, and sales performance reports.
Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to optimize costs and improve product offerings.
Identify gaps in the product assortment and suggest new items based on customer demand and industry trends.
Support training and development of showroom staff on product features and category value.
Prepare regular reports on category performance and propose action plans for improvement.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar role in the furniture, mattress, or retail industry.
Strong analytical and commercial skills with a good understanding of customer needs and market dynamics.
Solid experience in working with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and supply chain.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field.
