Full job description
The Language Company-South Bend is located on the campus of IUSB. TLC offers ESL instruction to international students and locals whose first language is not English. All TLC locations are accredited by ACCET and follow an objectives-based curriculum. We are currently hiring substitute instructors. Our regular program teaching schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:30am-4:00pm. Substitute instructors must have some predictable availability aligned with the teaching schedule. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. Instruction takes place on-site at IUSB. Substitute instructors may be offered a part-time or full-time position as times goes on depending on student enrollment. In addition, TLC substitute instructors are eligible to teach courses through TLC's IDL (online) programs if desired, and that instruction may be carried out from home as long as minimum technical requirements are met. Online offerings vary in hours and course duration but take place consistently. tlc.edu

Applicants MUST have the following:
• BS or BA degree and 3 months of full-time ESL or foreign language classroom teaching experience OR BS or BA degree with TESL/TEFL certification that includes a practice teaching component
• High level of English proficiency

Candidates with advanced degrees in the field and candidates with previous years of ESL or foreign language instruction are eligible for a higher starting hourly rate based on that experience/education.
