About the Role: 

As an IT Architect, you’ll play a critical role in designing the foundation for our global fintech platforms. Your expertise will shape how our systems perform and scale. Additionally, your understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles will guide the selection, operation, and administration of systems and software critical to our environment.

About the Team: 

The CPD Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team offers direct support to multiple banking platform teams. Our primary focus is on automation, implementing observability, and advancing SRE practices. While our expertise spans Linux, Windows, and IBM Mainframe architectures, our Ops team members possess diverse skillsets, ensuring a premium level of support. Our collaborative team is passionate about driving technological excellence. We work together to create solutions that empower our clients and enhance their financial services.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Contribute to the architecture used across multiple products or systems.

• Influence the design decisions that impact the future direction of our offerings.

• Work closely with senior stakeholders from Business, Product, Technology, and Operations functions.

• Design end-to-end solutions for strategic business initiatives.

• Allocate architecture resources to drive decisions at an initiative/epic level.

• Primarily supporting Core Banking platforms on various architectures and in future moving portions of it to FIS Cloud and Azure.

• Evaluate new technologies and assess technical debt to align with business/project needs.

• Follow the solution architecture delivery process and adhere to standards.

• Ensure that solution architecture aligns with FIS policies and guidelines.

• Define required business capabilities and align them with operating models, technical platforms, integrations, and infrastructure.

• Consider SRE practices to enhance system reliability.

• Analyze solution design options (e.g., Build / Buy / Partner).

• Present recommendations with rationale, considering strengths and weaknesses.

• Tackle complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

• Exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques.

• Network with key contacts beyond your area of expertise.

• Collaborate closely with multiple parties across FIS, partners, and clients.

• Maintain a library of functional component models for FIS product lines.

• Document functional product solutions and key financial services opportunities.

• Curate a catalog of reusable functional application components relevant to various applications and product lines.

What You’ll Need:

• 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Operations Engineer, or Software Engineer.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby) and shell scripting.

• Expertise in Linux servers (specifically RHEL/CentOS).

• Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, and LAN/WAN technologies.

• Understand end-to-end systems development life cycles.

• Lead large projects with confidence.

• Possess five or more years of experience in a distributed and heterogeneous computing environment.

• Work with relational or hierarchical databases.

• Design and implement applications within a shared service bureau environment.

• Leverage model-driven design-based tools and techniques for solutions design and requirements definition.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $145,900.00 - $245,120.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
