What You Will Do:


The Hospital Admissions Representative is responsible for gathering and verifying important information such as personal details, insurance coverage, and eligibility. They assign the correct medical record and account number, ensuring accurate billing and clinical data in the database.

Schedule: This position requires working onsite during the day, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays. Please note that the schedule may be adjusted according to the needs of the business and patient influx.

Duties:

  • Gather complete and accurate demographic and financial information from various sources, including patient interviews and other healthcare providers.

  • Ensure necessary documents, such as consent forms and insurance forms, are properly signed.

  • Perform pre-certification, credit referral, or deposit collection as required. Enter data into the computer system and document any incomplete admissions/registrations. Obtain necessary pre-certification, referral, or authorization numbers and update patient files.

  • Notify patients, family members, physicians, and supervisors about insurance coverage issues. Inform patients about co-payments, deductibles, or deposits required, and record all relevant information in the computer system.

  • Review physician's orders for completeness and ensure all necessary information is included.

  • Complete Medicare Compliance tasks and provide necessary Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) if required.

  • Stay knowledgeable about all federal, state, and local laws related to insurance rules and regulations.

  • Maintain proficiency in multiple computer systems.

  • Deliver excellent customer service, referring unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Answer telephone calls, following a pre-established script, and provide assistance to callers.

  • Complete all shift duties accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures defined by Customer.


What You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical or customer service environment, utilizing data entry skills, insurance or online websites, and various software applications.

  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute.

  • Understanding of medical terminology.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • 2 years of experience in Emergency Department admissions.

The annual salary range for this position is $37,300.00-$55,900.00. Compensation decisions depend on various factors, including skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
