The Opportunity
As a compassionate Manager of Personal Lines at USAA, you will lead a team of account managers who provide property insurance solutions.
- Inspire and mentor your team to provide personal lines insurance solutions to both members and non-members.
- Use your expertise in the personal lines marketplace to support your team throughout the client lifecycle.
- Take accountability for team performance and results.
- Collaborate with our carrier partners to improve processes, address customer concerns, handle exceptions, and stay on top of industry trends.
Please note that this position offers remote work within the continental U.S., with occasional business travel.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and guide a team of employees who specialize in personal lines insurance.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure quality submissions and the right coverage for our members.
- Review key reports to identify process adherence issues and exceptions.
- Utilize Agency Management Systems to support day-to-day operations in a multi-carrier environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and share your knowledge to foster the development of your team's technical and interpersonal skills.
- Drive business results and revenue by ensuring your team provides the right product solutions to meet member needs.
- Address member and team issues and make risk decisions based on our policies.
- Work closely with external carriers and partners, leveraging your knowledge of their relationships, systems, sales process, and underwriting practices.
- Collaborate with our talent acquisition team to make informed hiring decisions.
- Lead your team to achieve individual and team goals, providing mentorship and timely feedback to develop employees.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with our risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What You Have:
- A bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years required) can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 6 years of experience in insurance sales and service, including at least 2 years in Personal Lines insurance.
- 2 years of direct team lead, supervisory, or management experience.
- Experience with Agency Management Systems.
- Ability to thrive in an agile and dynamic environment.
- A valid Property and Casualty insurance license for your home state, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days.
What Sets You Apart:
- Experience working with a CRM platform.
- Insurance Designation (PLCS/CLCS/CPCU/CPRM).
- Experience with Excess & Surplus Lines.
- Background in writing high-value property insurance.
- Knowledge of the California market.
- Proven sales leadership experience in building impactful teams.

Compensation:
USAA ensures competitive compensation by assessing market data and establishing salary ranges based on experience and market data. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is $71,490 - $136,690.
