What you'll bring- Minimum 3+ years of paid professional tax preparation experience using tax software
- Experience preparing at least 125 tax returns per tax season for the past 3 years
- Expertise in preparing a range of federal and provincial tax returns for individuals, including various situations such as student, pension, self-employment, rental property, investments, and foreign income
- Ability to prepare and file personal tax returns for customers, including employment, self-employment, rental, investments, T1135, foreign income, and all applicable credits and deductions
- Thorough knowledge of tax laws and concepts, strong critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable with Windows and mobile platforms, as well as G-suite applications (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible availability/schedule
- Bilingual proficiency (English and French) in reading, writing, and speaking is a plus
- Experience preparing Quebec tax returns (TP1) is a plus
- Experience in a contact center environment providing support is a plus
- Guide customers through the process of completing their personal tax returns in a remote, seasonal, and customer-facing role
- Collaborate with customers to review and ensure the accuracy and compliance of their tax returns, providing tax guidance and preparation services as needed
- Research and address tax-related questions from customers through written and oral communication
- Offer a Full-Service experience by preparing, reviewing, and filing customer returns with the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency), or assisting customers in preparing their own tax returns by providing tax advice, preparation, and guidance on required documents
- Stay updated on tax regulations to provide accurate advice on maximizing customer's tax returns
- Create exceptional customer interactions and experiences by showing empathy, utilizing your tax knowledge and expertise, and instilling confidence
- Proactively seek and deliver accurate answers to customer queries using government websites, professional resources, and team expertise, while translating complex information into easy-to-understand language
- Use defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries
